The ABC’s of Twilight
Let’s face it. Vampires are hip right now and there are several vampire movies and series out there, with varying levels of success. Probably the best of the bunch was Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, but in terms of sheer entertainment value Trueblood takes the prize.
However, when you have a “best” there must also be a “worst”, and coming dead last by at least a few miles is a pile of steaming horseshit by the name of Twilight. It literally has no redeeming value on any level with the possible exception of the soundtrack – which is only marginally less putrid. I had struggled with the appeal of this movie for a while, but it all came into focus after viewing the following post: Here’s the original post from The Oatmeal, and a video adaptation from Epipheo Studios.

I read the first two books on a red-eye flight to Bonaire. They are marginally written, but like some sort of crack I could not put down. They are few books that I would read only once, and these are not a re-read. The movie wasn’t even good enough to be called marginal. Two teens that mumble throughout the entire film. I would have had no idea the premise of the movie had I not read the book. I didn’t ever mumble that bad, even as a teen. Jeez.
Mumblers irritate me almost as much as Times New Roman font. How the heck do you change the font for comments? Times New Roman font killed a dog of mine once. He got better, but I have always held a grudge…
Oh, I see. It only shows as Times New Roman font while you are typing in the comment box. Then magically transforms itself to Arial once people complain and press the ‘submit’ button. Yeah, I told you that Times New Roman font was a nefarious trickster….
